Auckland Council is looking for anEnvironmental Monitoring Officerto join our team, ensuring the effective monitoring, compliance, and enforcement of resource consents. This role is critical in achieving positive environmental outcomes for Auckland by managing resource consent compliance, addressing breaches, and supporting remediation activities. If you're passionate about environmental sustainability and have experience in compliance or resource management, we want to hear from you!
We have a permanent opportunities for working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a competitive salary and benefits package, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to Auckland's environmental management and sustainability initiatives.
These roles are for Region-wide team based in Aucklan CBD and South team based in Manukau.
He kōrero mōu: About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring at experience in planning, environmental compliance, or regulatory environments, ideally within a local government setting. You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as Risk/Compliance Management, Environmental Science, Law, or a related area. A strong understanding of regulatory compliance best practices is essential, along with a proven customer service ethic and the ability to develop innovative solutions. Familiarity with the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Local Government Act 2002 is crucial, as well as the ability to effectively manage resource consents and handle enforcement actions. You must be eligible for a Warrant under both the Resource Management Act 1991 and Local Government Act 2002. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.

Salary ranges from $73,000 and $86,000 plus KiwiSaver and benefits.
