Job summary

Taranaki Regional Council is seeking an enforcement-focused professional to monitor activities across the region, ensuring adherence to rules and resource consents. You will identify non-compliance, investigate incidents, and report findings to support appropriate enforcement actions.

Education with a relevant tertiary qualification is preferred, along with strong communication and computer literacy. A current full driver’s licence is essential, and a 24‑hour on‑call roster is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the public and stakeholders.
• Ability to investigate and write concise reports for various activities.
• Experience with on-call response and compliance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor activities to ensure compliance with rules, policies, and consents.
• Identify and report incidents of non-compliance and recommend enforcement action.
• Respond to pollution reports and participate in on-call rosters across the region.
