Job summary

Join our team in the Waipā District as a Compliance Monitoring Officer to help protect the environment by monitoring resource consents and resolving compliance issues. You will work with the Enforcement team and consent holders to achieve practical, fair outcomes.

The role requires a tertiary qualification or equivalent, a full New Zealand driver licence, and at least three years’ experience in compliance or related fields.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in compliance, regulatory, enforcement, environmental monitoring, planning or related field.
• Ability to interpret legislation, assess compliance and conduct inspections or investigations.
• Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills with balanced, evidence-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor resource consents and identify compliance issues.
• Provide sound technical advice on complex compliance matters.
• Engage with consent holders and the community to achieve practical, fair outcomes.
• Collaborate with Council colleagues in enforcement and compliance activities.
