About the team | Ko te rōpū nei

The Technical Services & Design (TSD) teams provide an in-house consultancy service comprised of technical and design professionals responsible for specialist advice and services across the Council aiding the delivery of the City's capital programme.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

As the Environmental and Resource Planner you will provide resource management expertise and advice on planning and consents and provide support for assessments aimed at promoting anticipated or improved environmental outcomes.

You'll work closely with your team and the wider organisation and be involved in the design process, working with consultancies, and sharing information with the Regional Council and other external Government agencies.

This role will see you building and protecting the Council's reputation as a leader in environmental best practice and supporting the TSD teams in meeting our environmental and statutory requirements as related to resource management and environmental planning.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

We're Looking For Someone With a Working Knowledge And Appreciation Of The Resource Management Act And Its Principles As Well As An Understanding Of Local Government Planning, Policy, And Project Delivery. You'll Bring With You

  • A post graduate degree or degree in Planning, or a specific relevant planning based qualification
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant post-graduate experience
  • Excellent communication including report writing and presentation
  • Strong relationship building and management skills

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week

Position - Permanent

Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street

Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 - $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
