Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a recent Environmental Sciences graduate to join the Macraes operation in Otago, NZ. You will support regulatory compliance, environmental monitoring, and stakeholder engagement as part of a 5 days on / 2 days off roster, with a 7:00am–4:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a tertiary qualification in Environmental or Earth Sciences, or similar.
  • Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles and 4WD’s is preferred.
  • Exposure to field based environmental work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the operation to meet regulatory and OceanaGold requirements, standards, and guidelines.
  • Liaise with personnel, consultants, auditors, and legal advisors to ensure environmental performance and targets are achieved.
  • Provide environmental advice to operational teams and on-site projects.
  • Ensure site awareness of regulatory obligations through liaison with other site departments.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Identify, plan and (if appropriate) implement environmental improvements.
  • Undertake monitoring and reporting of key requirements of the Macraes Operation.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory approvals as required.
  • Ensure management of covenants and biodiversity activities in line with consent conditions.

Are you a recent Environmental Sciences graduate, keen to grow your experience & career in the mining sector? Come and join our Macraes mine site, working a roster of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7:00am – 4:30pm daily.

Key tasks and responsibilities
