Job summary

Ravensdown is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join our Environment, Sustainability and Safety team in New Zealand. Reporting to the National Environmental Manager, you will help implement and improve environmental and risk management systems across our network.

You will work with operational teams to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into site projects, support consent compliance, and maintain accurate sustainability data while building relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of New Zealand environmental regulations and policies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical information, identify trends and produce high-quality reports.
  • Good project management, organisation and digital skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and make considered judgements under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental monitoring and reporting across air, surface and groundwater, wastewater, solid waste and hazardous substances.
  • Assist with resource consent applications, monitoring, reporting and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate environmental and sustainability data
  • Interpret environmental legislation, regional and district plans, national regulations, technical data and reports.
  • Work alongside operational teams to ensure environmental considerations are incorporated into site projects and improvements.
  • Support the maintenance of our carbon inventory and progress towards emissions reduction targets.
  • Build positive relationships with councils, contractors, iwi, local communities and other key stakeholders.
  • Respond to environmental enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional way.

About this position

We're looking for a motivated Environmental Advisor to join our Environment, Su stainability and Safety team.

Reporting to the National Environmental Manager, you'll support our Environmental Business Partners and operational teams to implement, maintain and continually improve environmental and risk management systems across our network.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll help our sites meet their environmental responsibilities, support resource consent compliance, maintain accurate environmental and sustainability data, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Support environmental monitoring and reporting across air, surface and groundwater, wastewater, solid waste and hazardous substances.
