Job summary

Eurofins New Zealand seeks entry-level Laboratory Technicians to join the Auckland Microbiology department, with permanent full-time and Fixed Term roles available. Positions may involve an afternoon start or weekend shifts on a roster basis.

Key duties include assisting in daily operations of core testing areas, processing and testing samples for food, dairy, meat and environmental matrices in line with customer and accreditation bodies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
• This role is potentially suitable for students still studying on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Process and test samples accurately within time and temperature holding requirements.
• Store and maintain sample inventory preserving integrity.
• Maintain good lab practice to ensure high-quality service to customers.
• Operate in accordance with Quality and Procedures manuals and accreditations.
• Keep the lab and equipment in good physical condition at all times.
• Maintain a positive, professional and safe working environment per Health and Safety procedures.
• Be willing to work on continuous improvement initiatives.
