Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking an experienced Information and Data Governance Lead to drive enterprise data governance across the organisation.

You will partner with data owners, stewards and technology teams to embed policies, standards and governance practices, strengthen data literacy, and enable confident data-based decisions. This is a Wellington or Auckland based, permanent role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience building governance capability and embedding best practice.
• Proven ability to work with data owners, stewards and technology teams.
• Comfort with enterprise information systems, data warehouses, and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of information security, privacy, risk, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data governance frameworks and standards.
• Support data owners and stewards in governance responsibilities.
• Embed governance into operations and delivery lifecycles.
• Monitor governance compliance and maturity.
• Deliver data governance initiatives to improve quality and accessibility.
• Maintain data sharing standards with external partners.
• Promote data literacy aligned with priorities.
• Enable leaders to make informed decisions with trusted data.
