Overview

Full time, fixed term, Start Date: 26/01/2026, End Date: 25/01/2027 (Study award leave). Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, English. Kapiti College seeks a skilled English teacher to join our team for the 2026 academic year. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one year. We are looking for an individual who can confidently teach English across Y9 to Y13.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver English instruction across Years 9–13, aligned with NCEA assessment requirements.
  • Support students\' learning and wellbeing, building knowledge, resilience, and confidence to make progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the success of the English department and the wider school.
  • Engage learners with a student-centered approach and adapt teaching to a range of levels.
  • Contribute to a reflective, team-focused teaching environment and uphold the school\'s values.
