Overview

Haeata Community Campus is an urban Area School based in the east of Christchurch. We have an exciting opportunity available for an English and science (Y9–10) kaiako to join our Y9–13 team. The ideal candidate will be culturally aware and enjoy the challenge of working within a modern learning environment with a focus on ākonga/student-centred learning.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability and confidence teaching Y9–13
  • Ability to teach English to NCEA Level 3
  • Able to deliver science teaching to Y9–10
  • Experience with planning and delivering integrated learning for Y9–10
  • A commitment to providing extracurricular opportunities for ākonga
  • Sound organisational skills and be details-oriented
  • Strong pastoral skills to support in the role of Puna Ako kaiako
  • Sound communication skills to support ākonga, whānau and kaimahi
