Our Enterprise Information Management team provides information and records management governance across Transpower. We manage the corporate information framework, document management systems, controlled documents, technical engineering drawings and models, photos and multimedia, and offsite storage. As a public office, the Public Records Act 2005 is integral to our practices.
The scale and variety of our engineering information is significant: more than 750,000 CAD drawings, terabytes of 3D models and point clouds, and more than two million photos and videos. This role works with information that directly supports the planning, delivery, operation, and maintenance of New Zealand's national grid.

We're looking for an Engineering Information Management Advisor to join our specialist Enterprise Information Management team and help ensure critical engineering information is controlled, easy to find, secure and trusted.
Working across systems that support drawings, models, and multimedia assets, you will apply sound information management practice and judgement to manage data quality, support system performance, and uphold governance standards. Platforms include RedEye, ProjectWise, Recollect and PLS-CADD.
As a custodian of engineering information, you'll partner with engineers, Grid Development and Grid Delivery teams, Digital Engineering, Operations, service providers, consultants, and other external parties. You'll provide practical advice and build capability through training, coaching, and support.
Your work will include managing engineering information systems, applying disciplined versioning and metadata practices, undertaking quality assurance, identifying data and process issues, and supporting practical improvements to systems, processes, and information quality.
You’ll be a diligent, pragmatic information professional who is comfortable in an engineering environment. You combine strong quality assurance and judgement with the ability to build trusted relationships, explain technical concepts clearly and help others work confidently with complex information.
