Job summary

Canstaff in Canterbury seeks an experienced Engineering Foreman to lead a busy workshop team responsible for installing and repairing farm equipment across the region. This hands-on leadership role requires you to manage staff, coordinate workflow, and uphold high safety and quality standards.

You will mentor trades, plan jobs to meet deadlines, liaise with suppliers and customers, and provide technical guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a foreman or supervisory role within an engineering workshop.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Solid technical background in general engineering / fabrication / machining.
• Ability to plan workloads and manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to safety and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations.
• Lead, mentor, and support workshop staff.
• Plan and prioritise jobs to meet deadlines.
• Ensure work is completed to required specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
• Liaise with management, suppliers, and customers as required.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support when needed.
