Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Technical Services team as we continue to ramp up production at Waihi. You will join a team primarily responsible for all aspects related to stope production in the underground mine, and enjoy an unbeatable beach side residential mine location working an 8/6 roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with geology team to review geological models.
• Ensure that results from drilling and blasting is reviewed dynamically and changes made to designs and practices.
• Measure blast vibration monitoring results, review and use to influence all charge plans and designs.
• Ensuring all engineering aspects of the reconciliation process is completed in a timely manner.
• Working with the Senior Engineer – Mining and the operations teams to ensure that the weekly and monthly production plan is achieved.
• Lead the explosives management aspect of the underground including ordering, auditing, and reporting.
• Complete stope designs on time and to a high standard ensuring grade is maximised as efficiently as possible.
• Complete vertical development, probe drilling and service holes designs.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Mining Engineering or accepted equivalent.
• Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an underground mining environment.
