OceanaGold is seeking an Engineer - Maintenance (Reliability - Mobile Fleet) for its Waihi operation in New Zealand. This residential role focuses on owning and optimising asset strategies for the underground mobile fleet, improving reliability, and driving data-informed decisions to create value and sustainability.

You will lead asset criticality, develop PM strategies, and align data in Pronto CMMS. The position requires strong data experience and a background in mining or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in data analysis.
• 3+ years experience in a maintenance reliability role in mining or related heavy industry.
• Tertiary level Engineering qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset criticality assessments, determine mitigation strategies and align stakeholders.
• Develop maintenance strategies and tactics, including maintenance intervals and spare holdings.
• Build and align master data in Pronto (CMMS) to support the strategy, including asset registers, PM tasks, and BOMs.
• Analyse performance data through ad-hoc analysis and structured reporting.
• Lead structured defect elimination and continuous improvement to close gaps.
• Monitor asset condition and recommend corrective maintenance based on condition data.
• Monitor and report on performance using fleet management and Pronto data.
• Facilitate and lead Root Cause Analysis of losses or near misses.

Our Waihi Operation in the North Island of New Zealand is an underground operation. Look no further! Our Waihi operation on New Zealand's North Isaland has created a new role as we continue to ramp up production. Just a 2 hour drive from Auckland and 1hr from Hamilton and Tauranga, you will be hard ushed to find a mine in a better location.

Working closely with the Underground Mobile Maintenance team, the Engineer - Maintenance (Reliability)' primary purpose is to own and optimise asset strategies for the mobile fleet, analyse performance, and continually improve reliability and safety to create value and sustainability.

The role is a key driver of reliability performance, defect elimination, and data-driven decision-making across the Underground mobile fleet. This is a key position which is definedby the OceanaGold Asset Management Framework.

Responsibilities:

• Lead asset criticality assessments, determine appropriate mitigation strategies, and align stakeholders.
• Develop appropriate maintenance strategies and tactics, including maintenance intervals and spare holding requirements.
• Build and align master data in Pronto (CMMS) to support the strategy, including asset registers, preventive maintenance tasks, and bills of materials.
• Analyse performance data through both ad-hoc analysis and structured report building.
• Lead structured defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives to close performance gaps.
• Proactively monitor asset condition and recommend corrective maintenance based on condition monitoring results.
• Monitor and report on performance using fleet management and Pronto data.
• Facilitate and lead Root Cause Analysis of losses or near misses.

Key Success Measures:

• Improvement in Underground Mobile Fleet availability and reliability.
• Reduction in unplanned downtime.
• Effective identification and elimination of repeat defects.
• Timely completion and quality of Root Cause Analysis investigations.
• Improvement in maintenance strategy effectiveness (PM compliance vs corrective work).
• Quality and utilisation of asset data in Pronto and reporting systems.

• 3+ years experience working with data.
• 3+ years experience in a maintenance reliability role in mining or related heavy industry.
• Tertiary level Engineering qualification preferred.
