Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Engineer Fitter / Welder to join our Engineering team. This hands-on role involves building and fabricating new fleet equipment, performing maintenance and diagnostics, and reading engineering drawings to deliver quality outcomes.

You'll work on bitumen sprayers, tankers, and other projects with a practical, safety‑minded approach. Strong MIG/stick welding, a relevant trade certificate, and good problem-solving and communication skills are

Qualifications

• A relevant Trade Certificate and solid industry experience in fitting and welding.
• Strong MIG and stick welding capability, with welding certification preferred.
• Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• A proactive, practical approach with good problem-solving skills and a focus on quality.
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of plant and equipment.

We’re looking for an experienced Engineer Fitter / Welder to join our Engineering team in Christchurch.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You’ll work on new fleet builds including bitumen sprayers and tankers, support in-house fabrication projects, and help keep our equipment performing at its best. It’s good work with real impact, alongside a team that backs each other and takes pride in getting the job done right.
