Job summary

Hato Hone St John seeks a passionate educator to deliver the St John in Schools programme across Christchurch and surrounding areas. You will create engaging learning environments, adapting for diverse ages and learning styles, while coordinating planning and administration.

The role is permanent part-time (3 days/24 hours per week), with school-hour delivery and flexibility for planning. Travel across Selwyn to Kaikoura is required; a full NZ driver’s licence is essential, and a company car is

Qualifications

• Loves working with young people and can engage them in a meaningful way.
• Understanding of diverse cultures and learning styles.
• Can adapt teaching methods to suit different age groups and needs.
• Well-organised with great time management skills.
• Able to travel across the region with a full, clean NZ driver’s licence.
• Basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the St John in Schools programme to tamariki across Christchurch and wider Selwyn–Kaikoura region.
• Plan, prepare, and admin work; approx. 20% of time.
• Travel to centres, schools and kura; build relationships with schools and communities.
