Job summary

APM in Auckland is seeking an Employment Consultant to join our vibrant team on a fixed-term maternity cover of seven months. If you have experience in customer service, recruitment, sales, or social services, we'd love to hear from you!

Based in Auckland, you will meet clients referred from Work and Income, build connections with local employers and partners, and help jobseekers gain skills and paths to financial independence. Enjoy flexibility, a company vehicle, and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, recruitment, sales, social services or related fields.
• Full NZ driver's licence with reliable vehicle.
• Self-driven and entrepreneurial approach; resilient and capable of working with diverse clients.

Responsibilities

• Meet clients referred from Work and Income and focus on work-first employment pathways.
• Create connections with local employers and government/industry partners to seize opportunities for jobseekers.
• Get to know jobseekers, build trust, and help them gain mahi aligned with goals, experience and strengths.
• Help jobseekers upskill by identifying training needs and liaising with training providers to gain short course certification.

We're on the hunt for an Employment Consultant to join our vibrant team based in Auckland! This role is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave for 7 months. What you'll do

• Meeting your clients that are referred from Work and income and focusing on work first employment pathways leading to financial independence.
• Creating meaningful connections with local employers and businesses, government & industry/sector partners, disability support and other providers to seize golden work opportunities for our jobseekers.
• Getting to know your jobseekers, understanding their stories, and fostering trust so that you can effectively help them gain mahi. aligned with their goals, experience and strengths.
• Helping jobseekers upskill by identifying training needs for their chosen industry/sector and liaising with training providers to gain short course certification.

Your background

• Current full NZ driver’s licence, must have reliable vehicle, reimbursement for work related travel is included
• Our Employment Consultants are selected from a wide range of careers -- including recruitment, social services, sales, business development, government and industry.
• Life skills, enthusiasm to help people, grit & resilience, and the ability to bring the best out of people are key attributes we look for.
• You will need to be self-driven, even entrepreneurial in your approach.
