Employee Relations Advisor
The opportunity

As our Employee Relations Advisor (12-month fixed-term opportunity), you'll play an important role in helping EY's leaders navigate employee relations matters while building a positive, high-performing and inclusive workplace culture. Working as part of our Oceania Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, you'll partner with leaders across the business to provide practical advice, support case management and develop deep expertise in employee relations best practice, employment legislation and workplace risk management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to specialise in employee relations, gain exposure to complex workplace matters and accelerate their development within a highly collaborative and experienced team. Alongside day-to-day case work, you'll contribute to initiatives that shape the future of employee relations at EY, including legislative change, process improvements and Talent-led projects.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity and can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia or New Zealand. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders across EY to provide practical employee relations advice and support a wide range of workplace matters, including performance management, probation and fitness for work.
  • Support Employee Relations Managers on more complex matters while building your expertise across investigations, restructures, disciplinary matters and workplace risk management.
  • Contribute to strategic Employee Relations and Talent initiatives, helping drive continuous improvement and enhance the employee experience across Oceania.
Skills And Attributes For Success
  • Experience providing employee relations advice and support within a HR Generalist, HR Advisor or Employee Relations environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and the ability to apply practical, commercially focused solutions to workplace issues.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • 2-3+ years' experience supporting employee relations case management, including performance, conduct, probation or workplace wellbeing matters.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance employee experience, business outcomes and risk considerations.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, collaboration and learning.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
