Job summary

Gisborne Hospital, part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, invites applications for a Health Care Assistant in the Emergency Department. This 0.8 FTE, part-time role supports patient care under the direction of Registered Nurses and health professionals in a busy ED environment.

You will assist with patient care activities, help maintain a safe clinical setting, support patient flow and undertake a range of non-clinical tasks that contribute to high-quality care and service delivery.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 3 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to follow direction while showing initiative within scope of practice.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional approach with commitment to confidentiality, patient safety and quality care.
