Job description

Responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to cardiac electrophysiology, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias and related conditions.

Essential Functions:
  1. Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for electrophysiology procedures, such as electrophysiological studies (EPS) and cardiac mapping.
  2. Assist physicians during procedures by operating and troubleshooting specialized equipment, including mapping systems, recording devices, and ablation systems.
  3. Assist with the implantation and management of cardiac devices, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and CRT devices.
  4. Program and optimize device settings based on physician orders and patient needs.
  5. Perform routine device checks, assessments, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning.
  6. Collect and analyze data from electrophysiology procedures, including electrograms and activation maps.
  7. Educate patients and families on procedures, risks, and benefits.
Education:

Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required; Bachelor's Degree in Cardiology or Related Field preferred. This role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree.

Licenses and Credentials:

Required as per position standards.

Experience:

1-2 years of electrophysiology technician experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology principles, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting electrophysiology systems.
  • Understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and arrhythmias.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and interpret electrograms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
