NZICT T/A NZFix is the leading phone and computer repairer since 2015. We are looking for two (2) Electronics Technicians. This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week. You may be offered up to 40 hours depending on the operations of the business. You will be paid at $30 - $40 per hour depending on your qualifications, skills, and experience. The job is based in the Auckland region.

Founded in 2015, NZFix is a leading specialist in electronics repair and refurbishment in New Zealand. We provide high-quality repair services for a variety of electronic devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, smart wearables, smart vacuum cleaners, e-scooters, TVs, and more. As an Apple Independent Repair Provider and an authorized service centre for leading industry brands, we serve major retailers and insurance companies across New Zealand and Australia.

Our mission is to provide exceptional customer service while promoting environmental sustainability. By repairing and restoring faulty electronics instead of replacing them, we help extend their lifespan and reduce e-waste, supporting a more sustainable future.

We are seeking two (2) Electronics Technicians. This is a full-time permanent role with a minimum of 30 hours per week, potentially up to 40 hours based on business needs. Compensation ranges from $30 to $40 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience. The position is located in the Auckland region.

The job duties may include but are not limited to:

  1. Diagnosing and repairing electronic and mechanical hardware.
  2. Diagnosing and repairing faults in mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smart wearables, and other electronic devices.
  3. Performing board-level repairs, micro-soldering, and component replacements when necessary.
  4. Using diagnostic tools, schematics, and industry best practices to identify faults.
  5. Conducting software troubleshooting, firmware updates, and system reinstallation as needed.
  6. Assisting with data backup, data wiping, and ensuring security compliance for customers.
  7. Providing technical support via phone, email, or in person.
  8. Managing service documentation and job records with accuracy.
  9. Configuring and staging hardware prior to dispatch.
  10. Maintaining technical product knowledge and reporting recurring issues.
  11. Ensuring all repairs meet company and industry standards before returning devices to customers.
  12. Conducting final quality control testing on all repaired devices.
  13. Maintaining high success rates with minimal rework or customer returns.
  14. Logging all repairs, parts used, and work completed accurately in the company’s system.
  15. Following ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety protocols and workplace safety regulations.
  16. Ensuring secure handling and proper tracking of customer devices.
  17. Collaborating with customer service representatives to provide technical insights and repair updates.
  18. Working with team members on complex repair cases, sharing expertise and knowledge.
  19. Assisting in training other technicians or new hires if required and sharing technical knowledge.
  20. Supporting in maintaining a clean and organized workstation and adhering to safety regulations.
  21. Providing feedback on repair processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

Qualification:

Diploma in IT/Computers/Hardware or relevant qualification, vendor certification, or 3 years of relevant experience.
