Job summary

TSS SECURITY SERVICES UK LIMITED in Nelson, NZ, is seeking a skilled Security Technician to design, install and maintain CCTV, access control, alarms and electrical systems. You’ll travel to client sites and work to ensure reliable security solutions.

We offer top rates, a birthday day off, company vehicle, tool allowance after 3 months, uniforms and relocation support if needed, plus ongoing training and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Electronic Security and/or Electrical experience.
• Clean full NZ driver’s license or overseas equivalent, travel to meet clients.
• Ability to pass Police check.
• Great attitude and practical mindset.
• Capable of working unsupervised and training apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and maintain Security Systems, CCTV, Fire Protection, Alarm Monitoring and Electrical Systems.
• Careful installation, programming, testing and commissioning to ensure reliability.
• Promote the business and follow up quotes and sales leads.
• Manage stock levels and keep up with technical changes.

Details of job:

• Days of work Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work available from time to time.
• Minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Carry out all duties associated with the design, installation and maintenance of Security Systems, CCTV, Fire Protection, Alarm Monitoring, Electrical Systems and any other duties as reasonably required
• Take particular care with installations, programming, testing and commissioning of systems to provide reliable systems and prevent call backs
• Promote the business in a good light, promoting and enhancing the reputation.
• Recognising and taking opportunities to promote sales and installations, assisting to follow up quotes and sales leads
• Connect job details to be completed on the job, regardless of job status.
• Manage individual stock levels.
• Keep up to date with technical changes in the industry
• Other duties as required from time to time.

Here’s what we need from you:

• Minimum 3 years Electronic Security and/or Electrical experience is essential.
• Have a clean full NZ driver’s license or overseas equivalent, to be able to travel to meet clients.
• Can pass Police check (we do work in Security after all!)
• A great attitude combined with a practical mindset – you can think on your feet.
• Be able to work unsupervised, run your own jobs and help train apprentices.
• Be honest and trustworthy.
• Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch.
• Great people skills, both with fellow workmates and customers.
