Job summary

Orion seeks an Operations Planner to coordinate network access, maintenance windows and planned outages across Canterbury. You will balance schedules, safety requirements and real-time network needs while ensuring crews, contractors and retailers have the information they need to work safely and efficiently.

In this role you’ll build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners, manage complex planning data in our systems, and contribute to safer, more reliable power delivery

Qualifications

• Level 4 Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of distribution and transmission systems.
• Hands-on familiarity with GIS, DMS and operational planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate network access for crews and contractors.
• Review release requests and align maintenance windows with minimal customer impact.
• Coordinate equipment releases and reduce risk of service disruptions.
• Notify retailers of planned outages and support switching processes.
• Maintain accurate network information and contribute to projects.
• Build relationships across internal teams and external partners.
