Job description

Job Title: Electrician

Pay: Minimum $30.00 per hour to a maximum of $39.00 per hour

We are seeking Electricians to join Extrastaff Limited. Our growing business values organized and trustworthy individuals who take pride in quality workmanship. Candidates should be motivated and result-oriented. Flexibility to work across the country is preferred to assist with various projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Review electrical layouts to determine appropriate systems and ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes.
  • Install and test electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Repair system issues and replace defective parts as needed.
  • Work within guidelines set by the Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Manager to meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Monitor work progress and communicate any delays or issues to the supervisor or manager.
  • Conduct quality inspections according to policies and procedures.
  • Understand safety objectives and policies; seek advice or opinions when necessary.
  • Participate as a member of the marine team and the wider organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Details:

Hours: Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally, one year of relevant experience or a qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 1, though not compulsory.
  • Friendly demeanor, good time management, and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.
  • Sound knowledge of H&S procedures.
  • Reliable and hardworking.
Location:

Occasional travel may be required to various regions including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
