ATT in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our site-based team. You will undertake day-to-day electrical services across industrial, commercial and domestic projects, coordinating with the Site Supervisor and ensuring safety and quality on every job.

The ideal candidate has 4 years' experience, strong communication, proactivity, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with a commitment to high standards and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Four years’ experience working as a qualified Electrician.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Construction Contracts Act 2002.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake day to day electrical services to design, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances, and facilities for industrial, commercial, and domestic purposes.
  • Work alongside the Site Supervisor and agree upon site responsibilities.
  • Planning forward workload and procurement of plant and materials to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Supervise, and work alongside site staff and allocate the day-to-day workload.
  • Ensure staff have the correct information, equipment, and materials in advance of starting any project. This includes drawings, specification and take-off as required. Make sure staff have a good understanding of the project before they begin their work.
  • Monitor staff numbers on contracts under your control to ensure the appropriate labour has been provided to successfully maintain the site construction programme.
  • Target setting labour, measuring performance, and adjusting as necessary.
  • Use and maintain the company Health & Safety Policies. Be responsible for onsite Health & Safety.
  • Liaise with onsite staff during the job and resolve any problems or issues that they or the client may have.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship across projects under your control.
  • Accurate and timely completion of paperwork including time sheets, project completion documents and stock adjustments.
  • Attend labour meetings at 7.15 am on Friday to communicate labour requirements for the next week, report current labour performance and to get an overview of the current workload of the company.
  • Identify and assist with pricing all project variation in a timely manner.
  • Always seek best pricing from suppliers for materials.
  • Sign off invoices checking for correct discounts from suppliers.
  • Check all time sheets for staff under your control and pass to the Project Manager to meet deadlines. This will normally be 4.00 pm Monday.
  • Manage up-keep and condition of all equipment and plant under your control.
  • Check emails and respond in a timely manner.
