Job summary

Wintec is seeking an Academic Staff Member to teach Electrical Pre-Trades at Rotokauri Campus. You will guide ākonga through NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trades Level 3, delivering engaging lessons and providing constructive feedback while linking classroom learning to industry practice.

The role requires a licensed electrician with at least 5 years in the electrical industry, a commitment to inclusive learning, and the ability to foster real-world connections.

Qualifications

• A relevant trade qualification at Level 4 or higher as an Electrician.
• Registered electrician with a current practising licence from the NZ Electrical Workers Registration Board.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical industry experience in the Electrical industry.
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students are supported in their educational journey.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Passion and energy for teaching and training others.
• A full class 1 NZ driver's licence.
• Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a current NZ work permit.
• Unit standard 4098 and the NZ certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Practice (or be willing to complete these courses).

Responsibilities

• Teaching Excellence - using different teaching methods, to create engaging lessons, give helpful feedback and help ākonga to build their skills and knowledge in the NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trades Level 3.
