Job summary

Transpower in Wellington invites graduates to join a two-year rotational programme that builds technical capability while solving real-world transmission challenges. You will work with engineering professionals across multiple teams and offices to gain broad exposure to the National Grid.

By December 2027 you should have a BE (Hons) in Electrical, E&EA, Mechatronics, or Power Systems/Renewable Energy papers with a 5.5 GPA, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BE(Hons) in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, or Power Systems/Renewable Energy papers by Dec 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 5.5 (B+).
• Strong written and verbal communication and active listening.
• Interest in New Zealand energy future and grid operations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a two-year rotational programme across different teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to solve real-world engineering challenges.
• Engage with various Transpower offices, including Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington and Christchurch.
• Develop technical capability in domains such as Power Systems, Transmission Lines, Real-Time Systems or Operations Planning.
