Job summary
Lightforce in Auckland is seeking an Electrical Engineer with Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems expertise to join our Engineering team. You will design, deliver and optimise commercial and utility-scale projects, collaborating with internal teams, contractors and customers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
You will work across design, delivery and commissioning phases, applying your knowledge of solar panels, inverters, storage systems and energy management to drive
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience with solar PV and battery storage systems.
- Experience with electrical infrastructure, grid connections and protection systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and review electrical systems for solar PV and BESS projects.
- Prepare electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts and docs.
- Perform calculations, system studies and design reports.
- Support equipment selection including switchgear, transformers and inverters.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning and operation.
- Respond to RFIs and technical queries in a timely manner.
- Mentor installation teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
