This is an exciting opportunity for you to become part of a strong, tight knit and hardworking team. You will contribute towards growing conservation in the Tāmaki Makaurau district alongside our Treaty partners and the community.

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to support our community engagement program in delivering conservation outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing conservation efforts, fostering community involvement, and increasing conservation outputs.

The position will be focussed on:

• Responding to public enquiries
• Managing social media pages and ensure accurate and timely social media posts on Tamaki Makaurau District's engagement priorities
• Developing and delivering advocacy messaging on the district's conservation priorities
• Supporting advocacy events
• Providing advice and support for community groups engaged in conservation activities on public conservation land
• Building and maintaining relationships with community groups and our treaty partners, to empower them to undertake conservation activities
• Actively supporting the district's emerging volunteer program
• Supporting the wider operations team with high priority work as required

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and accurate messaging
• An excellent understanding of conservation, recreation, and community engagement
• Experience working with volunteers
• Good relationship management skills with the ability to build connections and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
• Good planning, organisation and time management skills
• Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to respond to shifting priorities
• Good computer skills and ability pick up new systems quickly
• Experience with social media and coordinating public information
• Knowledge of statutory processes and regulations
