Join our Youth Justice Residence as a Residential Youth Worker and make a real difference in young lives. Our focus is on safety, security, and enhancing future prospects for tamariki through mentorship, role modeling, and coaching.

We offer engaging activities such as cooking classes, gaming and sports tournaments, vocational and cultural demonstrations, and community-led lessons, enriching the lives of our tamariki and fostering positive development.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Resilience, good listening skills, and the ability to build trust are essential. Experience with children or in roles like coaching, mentoring, tutoring, customer service, healthcare, psychology, education, sports, music, or art is beneficial.

Passion for sharing interests and culture, and being a positive role model, is highly regarded.

  • Willingness to work shifts covering mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to participate in sports and interact safely with tamariki.
  • Ability to pass Vulnerable Children's Act check and Police vetting.

  • Present at work free from drugs and alcohol influences.
Nōu te rourou | What's in it for you

Six weeks of full-time, paid training before starting shift work. Competitive annual salary between approximately $64,766 and $78,400, depending on experience, including shift allowances. We offer ongoing training, development, and career growth opportunities.
