Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented individual to come join the Criminal Team as a Court Registry Support Officer at the Wellington High Court.
In this role you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who are interacting with the Justice system. You'll need to be a skilled communicator who is able confidently interact with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as lawyers, Police, key stakeholders and members of the public.
The Roles Tasks Include But Is Not Limited To
- Court Attending – this is the facilitation of running the court during trial. This includes working with the Court Registry Officer to ensure the court runs smoothly, as well as taking responsibility of the jurors during this time.
- General Registry Administrative Support – Assisting case officers to manage documents and follow up important issues. Ensuring the effective storage, retrieval and transfer of Court Records.

To Be Successful, You Will Need To Be
- Detail orientated and observant – the court has many different processes and case information needs to be accurate.
- Self-aware –our customers are unique, and you will be confident working, both individually and as a team, across a range of situations;
- Multi-task –some of our processes are repetitive, but you'll be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly;
- Willing to learn – legislation and processes in the courts is always changing and you will be able to adapt and take onboard feedback.
- Resilience – there are times when working in the courts, you will be working on sensitive cases and sometimes at high volume. You will be working in a demanding and fast paced environment.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $55,343 to $74,416 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
