New Zealand Government is hiring a Speech-Language Therapist based in Porirua with flexibility to serve the Greater Wellington region. You will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team focused on equitable outcomes for children and students in our education system.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy, collaboration across agencies, and strong communication with families, schools and teachers.

Qualifications

• To be successful you will need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy or the equivalent meeting NZ Speech-language Therapists Association requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settings.
• Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information and coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Enhancing inclusive practices in schools and other educational settings.
• Providing professional support and guidance to schools, teachers and families and building capacity of those who support learning.
• Providing specialist assessment and analysis for collaboratively planned interventions.
• Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child’s needs are complex.
• There may be opportunities for involvement in project work, as well as individual casework, targeted (group) work, and universal (systems level) work.
