Job summary

The Ministry of Education in Wellington is inviting Policy Analysts to join the System Policy Team or the ECE System Investment Policy Team. This permanent or secondment role focuses on long-term education policy and funding reform, with a strong emphasis on equity and outcomes for learners and whānau.

We seek experienced analysts capable of developing evidence-based policy and engaging across government, communities and Maori-focused partners.

Qualifications

• We are looking for committed and experienced Policy Analysts with proven policy experience.
• Excellent knowledge of policy and government processes and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to develop evidence-based policy analysis and advice in a fast-paced government environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic policy advice and cross-ministry guidance for Ministers and leaders.
• Help design and implement policy that strengthens education outcomes for learners and whānau.
• Collaborate across government agencies and with ECE providers to ensure inclusive policy.
• Support the design of a new funding system for early learning and address equity and affordability.
