We're looking for an experienced HSEQ professional who thrives on driving culture, leading teams, and influencing positive change.

About The Role

As the HSEQ Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a proactive, high-performing HSEQ function that supports operational excellence and aligns with our business objectives. Reporting to the Executive General Manager NZ, you'll provide expert advice, manage a capable team, and partner with leaders across the business to enhance safety, sustainability, compliance, and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver practical HSEQ strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HSEQ team across NZ operations.
  • Be the key point of contact for all HSEQ-related matters across the business.
  • Support internal and external audits and manage our Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Oversee incident reporting, emergency planning, and business security management.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on HSEQ issues.
  • Support bidding processes and due diligence activities for new opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSEQ systems, performance, and culture.

About You

You’re a proactive and experienced HSEQ professional with strong leadership skills, capable of balancing operational realities with strategic vision. You're highly credible, hands-on when needed, and confident working across all levels of the business.

You Will Bring

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (IEMA/NZISM desirable).
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in HSEQ roles, ideally in local government, infrastructure, or agricultural sectors.
  • Experience leading teams and managing ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 systems.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural change and performance improvement.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, and due diligence processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
