A nurturing early learning centre in Tauranga is seeking an experienced ECE Teacher to join their team. Waiapu Kids Merivale Whānau Aroha Centre is a nurturing early learning centre grounded in respectful, bi-cultural child-led learning. Our environment encourages curiosity, creativity and connection – where tamariki and whānau flourish together, all underpinned by our vision of te oranga ake – flourishing together.

As a Whānau Aroha centre, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that prioritises self-determination, early intervention, and holistic support for our tamariki and their whānau.

We are looking for an energetic and experienced ECE Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis working 30 hours per week.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about creating inspiring learning spaces for tamariki to grow
• Has strengths in creating thoughtful individual learning plans
• Can build strong and lasting relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community
• Has a deep grounding in Te Ao Māori who can uphold tikanga and reflect Māori cultural values in their mahi

To be successful you will have:

• Full NZ teacher registration and a recognised ECE qualification
• Confidence in planning and implementing a child-led, play based curriculum

• Commitment to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this space
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and the ability to plan and assess for children’s learning. Strong teaching practice.

ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua.
