Job summary

Anglican Care Waiapu is seeking an energetic Administrator to join Waiapu Kids St Georges in Whakatāne, NZ, on a permanent basis. This 15-hour-per-week role supports enrolments, attendance records, funding and MOE compliance, and front-of-house hospitality for families and kaiako.

You will work closely with our team to maintain records, use Microsoft 365 and Infocare, and contribute to a child-centred, culturally competent ECE environment guided by te ao Māori and Anglican values.

  • Organised, detail focused and great at juggling priorities.
  • Warm, approachable and genuinely enjoys working in a child‑centred environment
  • Tech savvy and confident using digital systems and databases
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions focused
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to team culture
  • Commitment to cultural competence and engagement with te ao Māori with a basic understanding of Te Reo & Tikanga Māori
  • Experience in administration or operational support roles, ideally in an early childhood education setting but not essential.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills and experience using Infocare or similar database (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Understanding of ECE contexts, enrolment, or funding processes (advantageous).
  • Alignment of our values of Aroha, Rongo and Hari and a willingness to work in a faith based Anglican organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting enrolments, attendance records and whānau communications
  • Managing administrative systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Assisting with funding, compliance and Ministry of Education requirements
  • Welcoming visitors and creating a positive first impression of our centre
  • Providing practical support alongside kaiako, including time on the floor with Tamariki (on occasion)

Job description

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis working 15 hours per week.

This varied role includes:
  • Supporting enrolments, attendance records and whānau communications

Waiapu Kids St Georges is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) - the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua.
