Environmental Science – Senior Environmental Scientist. Contaminated Land Management

We are seeking a Principal Contaminated Land Specialist to join our team of environmental scientists, based in Wellington or Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contaminated land, with a keen eye for technical detail and a passion for mentoring others. Our projects span infrastructure, community development, and construction, and the successful applicant will also have experience in developing bids, tenders, and contracts within a consultancy setting.

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Sciences or Geology
• 15-20 years' experience in environmental consulting, with at least 15 in Contaminated Land
• Experience in designing and implementing field programs, reporting, and working with soil, groundwater, surface water, and ground gas including PFAS. Strong knowledge of NESCS and regional requirements.
• Patient and clear in task setting, actively involved in training and upskilling junior staff.
• Strong client and project management skills, confident communication, and experience liaising with clients and teams.
• Current CEnvP – SC or working towards certification.
