Qualifications

  • EWRB registered Level 4 certified Transmission Line Mechanic preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; Heavy truck license preferred.
  • Live line qualification advantageous but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of National Grid assets.
  • Erection, repair, and dismantling of conductors, hardware, and structures.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety culture.

First Aid and CPR certification

Job description

This is a full-time, permanent role at minimum 40 hours a week, from 7am to 3:30pm.

Key Deliverables of the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of conductors, hardware, and structures used in the National Grid. This includes the erection, repair, and/or dismantling of these assets, all while demonstrating a high level of safety culture.

About You – Required Skills and Competencies
  • EWRB registered Level 4 certified Transmission Line Mechanic (advantageous).
  • Testing and Electrical Safety knowledge.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience climbing transmission towers or similar structures.
  • Valid driver’s license with experience driving appropriate vehicles on various terrains and weather conditions; Heavy truck license preferred.
  • Excellent attitude towards SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality).
  • Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting, stretching, and climbing.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Live line qualification is advantageous but not necessary.
