Te Tūranga | About the Role:


The Service Desk Team Leader is responsible for the front-line leadership and delivery of service desk support services for Silver Fern Farms provided by the Service Desk and Desktop Support technicians.

The IT Service Desk is the primary point of contact for Silver Fern Farms staff requiring IT services, seeking advice, and requesting assistance. This role is responsible for leading this essential service, and ensuring that the team continue to deliver top-tier, readily available support in a timely manner.

Being a key customer and team leadership focussed role, this requires a leader with a high degree of understanding business operations across both corporate and plant environments, a sound understanding of team capability, and the ability to quickly understand user requirements.

Success in this role requires an approachable and proactive IT leader who thrives on delivering great customer service and supporting others to do the same. You’re not only confident leading a team and driving performance, you’re equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on alongside your team to resolve issues and support users.

You bring a strong understanding of IT systems, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to quickly grasp user needs in both corporate and operational environments. With experience across desktop support and service desk functions, you lead by example—balancing people leadership with active day-to-day involvement in service delivery.
