Job summary

Juken New Zealand Ltd in Gisborne seeks a Planning & Consenting Manager to lead harvest planning, resource consenting, environmental risk assessment and regulatory compliance for its East Coast forestry operations. This permanent full-time role collaborates with operators, contractors and regulators to ensure well-planned, compliant forestry activities.

You will work within the Forestry team on an important regional portfolio.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Forestry, Forest Engineering, Environmental Planning or related discipline.
Experience in harvest planning and forestry consenting.
Strong knowledge of NZ forestry regulations and consent processes.
Experience with GIS and working with councils, contractors and operations.
Excellent technical writing, analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead harvest planning activities to support JNL's woodflow and programs.
Prepare resource consent applications and related documentation.
Undertake environmental risk assessments for erosion, slash, freshwater and operations.
Monitor compliance with consent conditions and regulatory requirements.
Build and maintain relationships with councils, regulators, contractors and stakeholders.
Provide practical technical advice to forestry operations teams.
Maintain GIS and planning records and contribute to improvements.
