Job summary

Euro Staffs in Queenstown, Otago, NZ, is seeking a reliable Forklift Driver for waste management operations. This full-time, on-site role starts early at 2:00 a.m. and offers career growth.

You will operate forklifts, load/unload, perform inspections, follow safety rules, and assist with yard duties.

Applicants must have NZ forklift license, 2 years experience, pass drug tests, and be able to work weekends.

Qualifications

• NZ forklift certificate (F endorsement preferred)
• At least 2 years relevant experience OR Level 4 or higher qualification
• Ability to work permanent early morning shifts commencing at 2:00 a.m.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Clean criminal history suitable for safety-sensitive environment
• Reliable transport to attend work at the required start time
• New Zealand Class 2 Licence preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently within waste and recycling facilities.
• Load, unload, stack, and transport waste and recyclable materials.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational records.
• Assist with general yard duties and housekeeping as required.
• Work collaboratively with drivers, sorters, and supervisors in a shared yard.
• Cover class 2 truck drivers to maintain waste management and collections operations.
• Work on weekends and public holidays.
