Job summary

Fordell Preschool is a boutique, community-focused rural early childhood centre. We are seeking a passionate and professional fully qualified Early Learning Educator to join our small, dedicated team for Term 1 2027, 2 days per week with potential to increase to 3 days.

We value Te Whāriki, assessment practice, strong relationships with tamariki/whānau, and ongoing professional growth in a supportive community-owned setting.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Diploma in Teaching (ECE) or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Must hold current NZ teacher registration and practising certificate.
  • Must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Early Learning Educator, Permanent Part-Time

Early learning / kōhanga reo, Certificated teacher
Belonging / Mana Whenua, Contribution / Mana Tangata, Communication / Mana Reo, Exploration / Mana Aotūroa, Well-being / Mana Atua

Fordell Preschool is a boutique, community-focused rural early childhood centre, licensed for up to 23 children aged 2-6 years.

Our intimate setting and small group size allow us to build genuine relationships with tamariki and whānau, while providing individual attention and a personalised approach to learning.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and professional fully qualified ECE teacher to join our friendly and dedicated team in Term 1 2027.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about quality care and education for tamariki
  • Works well within a small team and contributes positively to our culture
  • Has initiative, a positive "can do" attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Builds strong professional relationships
  • Has sound knowledge of Te Whāriki and assessment practices
  • Is committed to ongoing professional growth and positive learning outcomes.

The position:

2 days per week, with the potential to increase to 3 days for the right applicant. We follow school terms and are open 40 weeks per year, 8:30am-3:15pm.

Applicants must:

  • Hold a minimum Diploma in Teaching (ECE) or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Hold current NZ teacher registration and practising certificate
  • Have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
