Job description

Team Leader Customer Support | Allan Brewster Leisure Centre & Papatoetoe Pool and Leisure Centre

You will be joining our team at Allan Brewster Leisure Centre and Papatoetoe Pool and Leisure Centre. Our main goal is to inspire Aucklanders to be more active.

You only get one chance to make a fantastic first impression, and our Customer Service Team are the people that make it happen when Aucklanders visit our Centre.

In this role, you will provide day-to-day people management for all those function staff for whom the centre is their primary location, including performance management, personal development, training, leave management, etc.

You will ensure the services and programmes operate at a high standard and excel at meeting customer and community needs. This role has been created to champion fantastic customer service amongst our front-of-house team. We want our visitors to feel welcome from the moment they walk through our doors - that first encounter is crucial to ensuring that they will come back again.

This is an on-site position. The center operates a 7-day service, so reliability and commitment to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, are crucial for this role. This position requires a 7-day commitment across a variable roster.

You will have customer service management experience. You will thrive on using your initiative to find improved ways of doing things and the opportunity to implement these.

You will have a passion for bringing out the best in your team and enjoy building relationships across a diverse range of internal and external customers. Ideally, you’ll hold a First Aid Certificate too.

We offer ongoing support and commitment to your personal and professional development. You will have access to a range of fantastic Auckland Council benefits, including an annual zoo pass and a range of partnership discounts. As a Leisure Centre employee, you will enjoy free use of the facilities.

We are committed to promoting a workplace that respects the contributions of everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background. Our goal is to pursue an inclusive environment where every individual is appreciated and empowered to express themselves at work. We welcome all applications. Help us get 'More Aucklanders more active, more often'!

Pay rate: from $75k+
