Position Overview

The School of Veterinary Science at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand, invites applications from advanced practitioners, board-eligible or boarded specialists with expertise in companion animals. We have ongoing opportunities based in the beautiful Manawatū region.

The Opportunities

We are seeking Specialists or Senior Clinicians in the areas of companion animal internal medicine and companion animal surgery.

  • Veterinary degree registrable in New Zealand
  • Provision of clinical services and clinical teaching
  • Memberships or advanced qualifications encouraged
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant clinical practice
  • Successful track record of tertiary teaching in a veterinary program is highly desirable
Our Facilities

Companion Animal Surgery: Our facilities include CAD and 3-D printing, Karl Storz 5mm laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, Philips fluoroscopic C-arm and radiographic DR systems, in-house 16 slice CT, and MRI at a local medical facility, among others.

Companion Animal Internal Medicine: Facilities include flexible and rigid endoscopy, digital radiology, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and in-house CT. MRI examinations are conducted at a nearby human imaging practice. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital maintains comprehensive diagnostic laboratory equipment and shares a building with IDEXX.
