Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Are you an experienced product manager with a strong background in general insurance and a passion to drive strategic outcomes? IAG New Zealand is looking for a Senior Product Specialist to lead the delivery and execution of product and portfolio initiatives across our diverse channels. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact in a complex, fast-paced environment while contributing to the growth and profitability of our business.

As a key subject matter expert, you’ll lead product development projects and reviews, identify trends, and recommend enhancements to keep our offerings innovative, competitive, and customer-focused. You’ll ensure all product activities align with Group Product Policy and governance standards, including documentation, approvals, and record-keeping.

Collaborating across teams, you’ll support strategic initiatives through market research, product analysis, and reporting. Strong stakeholder engagement will be vital to align efforts with business and customer needs. You’ll also champion compliance, ensuring all work meets IAG’s risk and regulatory requirements.

This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington).

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

• You’ll bring an extensive technical understanding of general insurance products and have at least 5 years of experience as a senior product or underwriting specialist, or in an equivalent role within general insurance.

• Your strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail, combined with your ability to see the bigger picture, will be essential to your success.

• You’ll thrive in reviewing, analyzing, and comparing products and in developing policy documents and other technical content.

• You’ll also be highly skilled in managing projects, juggling multiple priorities, and building strong working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.

• You'll act as a subject matter expert on IAG’s and competitors’ products, services, and market positioning.
