Transpower is the owner and operator of the National Grid, transporting high voltage electricity across New Zealand to support a reliable and secure electricity system with a net-zero carbon future.

About The Team

The Energy Market Services (EMS) team provides specialist data management, market development, and operational services that support New Zealand's energy markets. Our services include Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) management, Gas Allocation, market information exchange, meter data administration, and issuance of International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC).

About The Opportunity

As an Operations Analyst, you will support core EMS services, managing day-to-day operational tasks, and ensuring accurate and timely outputs to meet compliance and service level agreements.

What are we looking for?

• Service support experience in complex environments with diverse technologies.
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with incident and problem management processes.
• Basic understanding of IT architecture, infrastructure, and applications.
• Experience with data collection, reporting systems, databases, and SQL.

Your CV and Cover letter will demonstrate:

• Minimum 4+ years' experience as an Operations/Applications Analyst.
• Understanding of system release management and testing.
• Experience with root cause analysis using logs and monitoring tools.
• Experience working with vendors supporting solution components.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of New Zealand electricity and gas market rules.
• Understanding of revenue metering equipment and electricity industry settlement data.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
