Job description

About This Role

As the EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environment Health and Safety Management System which complies to CAE’s policies, legislations, contracts, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

The role will spearhead developing and maintaining a ‘safety first, always’ culture across the company by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, strategy, direction and specialist advice in order to achieve CAE’s goals to be a global employer of choice and work-class leader in safety.

This role will be located in Homebush, NSW.

The role we are offering you

  • Develop and implement vision, strategy, objectives and plans.
  • Provide leadership advice through analysis of the HSE data for risk and hazard identification, improvement opportunities and best practices
  • Act as the specialist, providing technical expertise, developing/updating policies and procedures, whilst supporting all sites under your remit.
  • Lead and/or participate in all investigations and analysis of incidents to identify causes and ensure the application of corrective and preventive measures/programs.

  • Proven experience in EHS
  • Extensive understanding of workplace, health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong experience working with contractors and managing competing priorities
  • Advanced skills of Microsoft Office suite

Security Requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
