Job description

Accounts Administrator - Full Time - 1.0 FTE

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation, Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO), is the professional union for nurses and other healthcare workers. We represent over 61,000 nurses, midwives, students, kaimahi hauora, and health workers in Aotearoa / New Zealand.

We embrace Te Tiriti o Waitangi and work to improve the health status of all people of Aotearoa / New Zealand through participation in health and social policy development.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator to join us.

In the role, you will have responsibility for providing financial administration and accounting support to NZNO and related entities. This position is integral to supporting the mahi and structures of NZNO and includes liaison with suppliers, auditors, and other parties we work with.

You will have the following -

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and an ability to work unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts.
  • Honesty and integrity in all transactions and interpersonal interactions.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience using Xero, iPayroll, and Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
  • Experience with not-for-profit reporting including charitable trusts.
  • Support for the values of unionism.
  • Commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensuring the outcomes of Te Tino Rangatiratanga.

This full-time permanent position is based in the Wellington National Office of NZNO.
