About the role:

The HR & Safety Advisor plays a key role in supporting the business to meet its human resources and health & safety obligations, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and safety-conscious workplace culture. The role provides operational HR and H&S advice, supports the implementation of people and safety strategies, and ensures compliance with employment legislation and health and safety regulations. This is a hands-on role that partners with managers and employees to ensure a safe, fair, and high-performing work environment.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Health & Safety, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in an HR and H&S advisory role.
  • Strong understanding of employment and health and safety legislation.
  • Proven ability to coach and advise managers on complex issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/H&S systems.
  • Experience in a high-risk or operational industry (e.g., transport, construction, logistics, manufacturing).
  • Practical, solutions-focused, and able to operate with integrity and discretion.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative and able to build trust quickly.
  • Passionate about safety, people, and making a positive impact.
  • Experience with critical risk management and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
