About the RoleWe are seeking a Urology Registrar to join our Urology Department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. The training year commences on 2 February 2026.

In this role, you will be part of a 1:3 on-call roster, supporting the delivery of both acute and elective urological services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in surgical procedures (acute and elective)
  • Participating in outpatient clinics (new assessments, follow-ups, and procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, and urodynamics)
  • Coordinating investigations and contributing to treatment planning
  • Providing non-contact assessments and clinical advice
  • Managing patients requiring specialist urological care
  • Offering guidance and phone advice to GPs and other healthcare professionals

About the Team/Service/ LocationThe successful candidate would join a team of 5 Specialists, 3 Registrars and 1 House Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive exposure to a wide range of urological conditions in a collegial environment.

Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and more. We are supported by a strong regional ICU and flight team with tertiary support for cardiac intervention, cardiothoracic surgery, plastics and neurosurgery from Wellington, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.
